HISTORY:
2008 | 2009 | 2010

Our second annual walk was held again at the Bow Lake Baptist Church in Strafford, NH on Saturday, September 12th, 2009 and was another BIG success!!! Although it down poured the entire time, our over 200 walkers, family members, friends and sleepwalkers, held tight and made it through the morning.

Once again, FLING was our live entertainment! There were approximately 60 names read out loud during our angel remembrance ceremony. A pinwheel was placed along the front of the stage for each angel’s name. Poems were read by Toni and Shannon (“Precious, Tiny, Sweet Little One” and “What Makes A Mother”), while songs were sung by Jody Gourlay (“It Will Be Me” by Melissa Etheridge and “This Little Light of Mine”). Another touching and amazing experience…

Zach (one of our Wish children from the first year), was gracious enough to speak to the crowd about his experience with the amazing folks at the Make-A-Wish Foundation of NH, and the Wish they made come true (a trip with his family to see the bengal tigers at the Hawaii Zoo). We also had another mother, Kimberly Barnett, who spoke of the loss of her son just a year prior. She told his story and how our walk was able to help her along her journey to healing. Truly a remarkable woman!!!

Some fun facts include our most popular raffle basket with StoryLand and Santa’s Village tickets, along with a one-night stay at the Christmas Farm Inn & Spa, Lee was VERY pregnant and due in a mere 6 DAYS, and this was our first year with Segways as means to get around and help where needed!

Thanks to our sponsors, donors, walkers and volunteers, our second annual Angels Walk for Wishes raised over $35,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of NH®. The funds we raised helped to make the following 5 local wishes come true:

ALLY’S playhouse Wish, age 3
CHRISTIE’S horseback riding for a year Wish, age 15
COOPER’S Disney Wish, age 6
LOGAN’S shopping Wish, age 8
CHRISTOPHER’S Disney Wish, age 13

PICTURES OF THAT DAY ARE COMING SOON!
