LINDSAY & TIM :: UPDATE

It has been almost 2 years since we lost our dear son, Sawyer. Soon after our loss, we yearned to get pregnant again. Initially, we think we just wanted to get Sawyer back. The questions were raised, what if we don’t have another boy? Or what if he didn’t look like Sawyer? But as time went on, the desire to have another baby was clearly to honor our son, and to do what we know he’d want us to do.

So on October 13th, 2008, Colby Brett was born into our lives weighing 10lbs. 8oz. and measuring 23" long. We did not know we were having another boy. But when our doctor announced that it was a boy, nobody in the room was surprised. Colby is a sweet, sweet, soul. He has a gentle, inquisitive nature (much like his daddy and big brother). We love Colby terribly and could not imagine life without him. Sawyer is no longer with us physically, but we see and feel him everyday through his little brother.

Now we wake up each morning and ask, what would Sawyer want us to do? The answer is always clear, he’d want us to LIVE!!! And so we continue to live on in our son’s memory. We have found laughter and joy in the face of adversity. Good has come from our tragedy… and we have welcomed it.
